AJ Pritchard’s girlfriend Abbie Quinnen has discussed the horrifying moment she received second and third degrees in a bizarre fire.
The professional dancer, 23, needed three skin grafts after a YouTube video she was filming with her boyfriend, 26, went horribly wrong and saw a wine bottle explode on January 19 and set her hair and clothes on fire.
Abbie appeared in Lorraine on Tuesday and talked about the fears she felt for her life when the fire started, while AJ spoke of how ‘seconds felt like a lifetime’ as he tried to tame the flames consuming his partner.
She then explained that during recovery she feared that she “ would never look the same again ” and wouldn’t be able to return to her dream job: performing.

Last month, Abbie was first seen since the burns, and during her appearance on the chat show, she marveled at how the skin healed as AJ called the body “ incredible. ”
The duo tried to put a wine bottle in a vase when the accident happened, sparking a grim warning from Lorraine.
Abbie said, “The moment I was on fire, I just thought,” How can I survive, how can I get myself out of this situation? ” so I don’t really remember how painful it was, I think I was just in shock trying to figure out how to express this. ‘
From the moment Abbie went on, ‘I think AJ wanted to do this life hack, this home hack, which everyone has done, to find something to do [in lockdown].

‘We watched the video right before we did, to watch it step by step and everything and unfortunately it just went horribly wrong …
“I was about four meters away from AJ and it went right up, it went right across the room and it grabbed my hair and then unfortunately my body, my clothes.”
AJ said, “Seconds feel like a lifetime. When Abbie fell to the floor and tried to roll over and grabbed a blanket to put out the fire, at the same time I grabbed wet towels to put on the spots, called the ambulance, went to the ER, it felt like a whole year … .
‘But you just have to do what you have to do in those scenarios. As soon as I handed you over to the hospital professionals I was a goner, I broke down. ‘

He said of her recovery: “It is incredible that the hospital, the surgeons and the nurses have helped so much. The skin is incredible [in how it recovers], while Abbie added: ‘I’m doing a lot better than I was, that’s for sure. My face is now almost healed. ‘
Abbie said, ‘I think when it happened, I just thought the worst, my face will never look the same, I’ll always have scars on my body …
‘I’ll never be able to dance or perform and do what I love to do, so I immediately thought that was it for me. Fortunately my face is healing very well. ‘

The couple also shared how Claudia Winkleman and Katie Piper contacted them after their terrifying fire accident.
The TV host, 49, whose daughter Matilda suffered horrific burns in 2014, sent her support to the couple as soon as she learned about Abbie’s injuries.
Abbie said, “They were absolutely wonderful. I think I spoke to Claudia, I just couldn’t believe what her daughter was going through. I think she has had 14 surgeries which is so awful. I hated having three. ‘

AJ added: ‘She gave a lot of tips and various moisturisers [to try]. You read every pamphlet and everything has something different …
