FBoy Island star Abbie Chatfield could be looking for a new job as claims emerge that the reality show faces the axe.
The series, which airs on BINGE, is hosted by the former Bachelor star and follows three women who date 24 men, who are either gamers or looking for love.
The FBoys are only on the show to play and win a $50,000 cash prize if they trick women into thinking they are a “nice guy.”
However, after two seasons, it appears the reality show is on shaky ground after it was mysteriously absent from the Foxtel and BINGE Upfronts event last month.
“At the Foxtel and BBINGE Upfronts last month, some big shows were left out of the 2025 announcement and FBoy Island was one of the loudest “reality shows” that viewers were hoping would return,” a source told Daily Mail Australia.
Despite its strong launch, FBoy Island has struggled to compete with Channel Nine’s reality dating show Love Island Australia, which offers a similar format.

The source claimed that a possible reason for the elimination was that FBoy Island had so far failed to give any contestants a sustainable career after their series ended, unlike its Channel Nine counterpart.
“In its sixth series, Love Island Australia has continued to prove it has a place among its target demographic and has launched the careers of the likes of Callum Hole.” the source said.
‘However, in two seasons of FBoy Island the format has not produced a name as well-known as Callum. Which, to be fair, isn’t the main reason networks make these shows.
Since his stint on the 2022 series of Love Island Australia, Callum has carved out quite the career in reality TV.
Since then, the Welsh-Australian has starred in films such as Aussie Shore, a spin-off inspired by Geordie Shore, and I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
Daily Mail Australia also exclusively revealed last month that the 26-year-old will join Love Island All Stars: Season 2, which will air in the UK in January 2025.
There’s no denying that aside from her work as the host of FBoy Island, Abbie Chatfield is also known for having quite a vocal presence on social media.
He often shares opinions on topics of the day, such as the recent US election, climate change, and vaping.

However, the source said that any decision to remove FBoy Island would not be due to the often controversial opinions of its host.
“It had more to do with the economy and nothing to do with Abbie’s recent social media posts,” the source said.
The source said Warner Bros Production Australia, which distributes FBoy Island, will focus on Channel Nine’s new reality series The Golden Bachelor, hosted by Samantha Armytage, when FBoy Island was scheduled to go into production.
It was also claimed that while Foxtel has not confirmed the show’s removal, its location in the New South Wales coastal town of Casuarina is not booked within the series’ normal February-March production schedule.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted BINGE, Foxtel and Warner Bros for comment.
The claims come after Foxtel recently pulled the plug on popular series Gogglebox Australia.
In August, after the second season premiere of FBoy Island, Abbie responded to critics of the show who felt it painted men in a bad light.
‘We make fun of patriarchy and men, but we don’t want to do it too seriously either. That discourages anyone. It’s a very complex tone to achieve,” Abbie told news.com.au.
The source said any decision to remove FBoy Island would not be due to its host’s often controversial opinions that she shares on social media.
The source said Warner Bros Production Australia, which distributes FBoy Island, will focus on Channel Nine’s new reality series The Golden Bachelor, hosted by Samantha Armytage, when FBoy Island was scheduled to go into production.
‘If you’re a hardcore feminist, you won’t learn anything from this show. You can enjoy it, have fun with it, digest it. But you’re not going to say, “Wow, awesome,” he added.
“But I think it’s really good for a standard reality TV audience, who is maybe a little conservative or unaware, to watch this show and have little easily digestible nuggets of feminism sprinkled on top of a dramatic reality show.”
Abbie went on to say that the show allows her to “call out sexism on the spot,” adding, “I don’t think any other show has a host who can do that.”
In the 2024 season finale, leads Krystal Thomas, Nicole Mitrov, and Ally Woodfall made their final decision about the FBoys and Nice Guys dating group.
But before each of the ladies’ top two men could face the final decision, contestant Chad Homan made the shocking decision to leave the show.
The explosive walkout came after all eliminated contestants were asked to return to the villa before the final elimination.
Chad was then alerted to Ally kissing contestant Joe Blanch behind the villa when they thought no one was looking.
After seeing the offensive kiss with his own eyes, an emotional Chad made the decision to walk out of the competition with Ally, leaving her with Andrew Tate enthusiast Joe as her only option.
