Abbie Chatfield has defended her new boyfriend, amid fans' concerns that he is cheating on her

Abbie Chatfield has defended her new boyfriend amid concerns from fans that he is “using” her to achieve fame.

The former Bachelor star and her boyfriend, musician Peking Duk Adam Hyde, have remained close since going public earlier this year.

The 28-year-old tells this week’s issue of Star Magazine who is in the best relationship she’s ever had and isn’t afraid of being used.

“He’s not like other people I’ve had affairs with. And this may sound a little strange, but he’s had a bigger career than I have,” she tells this week’s issue of Stellar magazine.

“I don’t think he’s using me for anything. He’s successful on his own merit. I think I’m a good person for being with him, not the other way around.”

Abbie added that she has known Adam for two years and that they were friends before they started dating, which has increased the trust between them.

“I guess it’s different with Adam, because I trust in the solidity of our relationship. But, also, us going out together is not something new. We’ve been going out together in public for years,” she said.

“Someone commented, ‘You sound manic. This seems like too much, too soon. ‘ And I made a video saying, ‘Well, I’ve known him for two years. We’ve been dating for six months and we’re getting closer. We were friends for two years before that, so I’m not sure how you think you know it’s too soon,'” she said.

Abbie previously defended Adam after fans raised concerns he was “love bombing” her as a form of publicity.

This week, she responded to a TikTok follower who commented: “He’s love bombing you. Be careful,” after Abbie admitted that Adam had paid to have her IUD birth control device inserted.

Love bombing is when a love interest showers you with romantic gestures, cleverly painting a picture of the beautiful future they intend to share with you, often when you’ve only known them for weeks or even days.

They make you feel like all your romantic dreams have come true, when the devastating truth is that you are being dragged along by a huge manipulator.

Abbie insisted this wasn’t happening to her, saying in her response video: “I’ve known him for two years. I’ve been seeing him on and off for those two years.

‘We’ve been friends for those two years and we’ve been back together for about six months now, we’ve been officially dating again for about three months now.

“I know this man and him paying for an IUD is not love bombing. He is a considerate man who knows his role in contraception and is considerate of me.”

Abbie also responded to a comment that read: “PR move of the century. This guy knows what he’s doing.”

She responded directly, writing: ‘I was listening to his music when I was 20 lol.’

This comes after Abbie confessed this week that she was left “in tears” over her new man.

“I don’t think he’s using me for anything. He’s successful in his own right. I think I’m good to him, not the other way around,” she said.

The podcaster admitted that his love for her has moved her to tears and encouraged other women to accept nothing less than a dedicated partner.

“I’m crying looking at these pictures from the movie while Adam is playing a concert so please accept my love letter to Adam as a sign for you to leave that loser who makes you feel like you’re not easy to love or can’t commit to you,” she wrote in her caption.

“Or someone who doesn’t really care to get to know you or isn’t romantic or doesn’t communicate or makes you feel like you’re too much or doesn’t shoulder their share of the mental load or just doesn’t make you laugh so hard you can’t utter a sound! Leave them!” she ranted.

Alongside the caption were loving images of the couple, whose romance has gone from strength to strength since they went public with their relationship in June.

Abbie has already spoken about her plans to have children with her boyfriend Adam.

She revealed in her It is a very complete podcastShe recently had an IUD placed and Adam was considering getting a vasectomy as the couple does not want to start a family in the near future but are open to doing so in the future.

“So, I went to get an IUD because I don’t want to get pregnant because I’m afraid that if Adam got pregnant, he would probably keep it and that would mean our lives would change forever,” Abbie said.

She went on to say that she and Adam, the frontman of Australian band Peking Duk, are financially prepared to have a child.

Abbie continued: “If I get pregnant, we both have money, we’re both older, we both have property. We’re both fine.”

“There would be no reason not to, and we are both very much in love, and he is so emotionally mature and such an adult that he would be a good father.”

She admitted that she had never thought about having a child until she met Adam.

“With Adam, I would love to have his children, I cry all the time because I want to have them. And we both have wonderful mothers who would love for us to have grandchildren too,” she said.
