Aaron Rodgers will take some time off after this season before deciding his future in the NFL.
While fans have called for the 41-year-old to hang up his cleats after the New York Jets’ catastrophic season concludes, the veteran quarterback says he will re-evaluate at the end of the campaign.
During a meeting with the media on Wednesday, Rodgers said, “I’m going to take some time after this year.” Unless they release me immediately.
“But I’ll still take some time (to decide) if I’m going to play or not. Either way, I’ll take some time to walk away from this.
Rodgers has completed 305 of 488 attempts this season for 3,255 yards and 23 touchdowns. Meanwhile, he has been sacked 32 times and thrown eight interceptions.
The Jets are 4-10 and in third place in the AFC East with three games remaining.
