Aaron Rodgers complained the Jets had leaks last year and thinks it's still a problem

Aaron Rodgers is sure the Jets organization still has a leak problem, he told reporters Wednesday.

The quarterback has complained on several occasions about leaks emanating from the locker room, even when The Athletic reported that Zach Wilson was “reluctant” to return to the field last season after being benched for Tim Boyle (the report cited anonymous sources).

the same publication reported a surprising revelation earlier this month when they said Jets owner Woody Johnson proposed benching Rodgers after the team’s Week 4 loss to the Broncos.

And when Rodgers was asked Wednesday if the franchise still had any issues with internal discussions leaking, he had an emphatic response.

‘100 percent yes’ he said.

And he added: “It all starts with discovering what they are and putting an end to them.”

Rodgers, who tore his Achilles tendon in Week 1 of the 2023 season, was particularly angered last year by the leak about Wilson’s apparent “reluctance” to play for the struggling team again.

The future Hall of Famer called the leak “chickens***” and said the organization needed to “get to the bottom of” where the leak was coming from.

“I’ll say this when you have sources, right, and that’s always an interesting thing,” he said on the Pat McAfee Show. ‘First of all, you can go down a whole rabbit hole with real sources, made-up sources, why is anyone willing to be a source?

‘What are they gaining from that? Over and over again, but when you use sources, whether intentionally or not, you try to assassinate someone’s character, like that report does with Zach, I have a really hard time with that.

“I mean, you’re basically saying this kid is leaving the team and doesn’t want to play and has given the organization the middle finger.”

Rodgers was also upset when news leaked that he had given the team a pep talk last season before facing the Chiefs (while injured).

Additionally, he told McAfee this season that an offseason report criticizing the Jets’ front office – again The Athletic – probably originated with the reticent’s agent Haason Reddick.

“(I) didn’t read the article, but I just read the headline, it looks like it was written by Haason Reddick’s agent,” Rodgers told McAfee.

Woody Johnson, owner of the New York Jets

A report earlier this month said Jets owner Woody Johnson wanted to bench Rodgers.

Zach Wilson was also reported to be “reluctant” to return to the field last year after being benched.

That August report published by was titled ‘NFL Agents Talk Best (and Worst) Franchise’ and included comments on several teams submitted by anonymous representatives.

In this case, the agent claimed there was “complete disarray” at the Jets’ facility in Florham Park, New Jersey.

Whether true or not, it’s entirely possible that Rodgers won’t be there next season after the firings of coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas.

The Jets are 3-8 and are all but eliminated from playoff contention with six games left to play.

And an inside source said ESPN’s Rich Cimini that it is highly unlikely that Johnson will get Rodgers back in 2025.

The Jets will host the Seahawks this weekend as they look to finish the season strong.
