An intergender wrestling match was “called off” after the male wrestler kissed his female opponent during the weigh-in.

Australian fighter Craig Jones was scheduled to face Gabi Garcia in a fight at the Craig Jones Invitational this weekend, but that was put in doubt following the events.

The fight was made due to the size difference between the two, with Garcia towering over her opponent in the sparring the duo had in the build-up to the battle.

Jones, 33, with a career record of 55 wins, was described by some as the underdog before the fight. Garcia, who like Jones is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu star, has recorded 71 wins and six other victories in MMA.

But the fight began to be in jeopardy just hours before the scheduled fight during the final showdown, in which Jones apparently grabbed her opponent and kissed her on the lips.

Jones shared a kiss with Gabi Garcia, who she is supposed to face on Saturday night.

Garcia, 38, let out a scream before calling Jones a “bitch” and yelling “f*** you” as she claimed her opponent “crossed the line.”

In a video of the incident, shared on Jones’ Instagram account, Garcia can once again be seen towering over his shirtless opponent as they stared into each other’s eyes.

However, almost instantly, Jones appeared to grab Garcia’s head and kiss her lips.

Garcia, 38, let out a scream in response and could be seen chasing Jones as he fled the scene.

She could also be seen yelling: “Man, you’re disgusting. Craig, seriously? Fuck off. You crossed the line, you crossed the line, you crossed the line,” before swatting the camera away.

The video ends with a slow-motion replay of the kiss and the caption reads: “The fight is off. I guess Brazilians can’t take a joke.”

In the lead-up to the fight, Jones had apparently made a number of references to her opponent around love, even saying she would “come out of the alley with a limp and out of the OnlyFans video shoot with a worse limp.”

Garcia was also asked if any part of her was in love with Jones, to which she replied: “Zero.”

Meanwhile, Jones appeared to have tattooed his opponent’s name.

Garcia took to her own Instagram to address the incident, saying in a series of stories: ‘I’m more upset that he hurt my head than that he tried to kiss me. My head still hurts, but look, it’s martial arts, right? Don’t blame the clown.

‘Instead, ask yourself, “Why do I still go to the circus?” I’m the clown or he’s the clown, but you go to the circus, right? You’re there to laugh. If I didn’t want anyone to judge me, talk bad about me, or laugh at me, I probably would have stopped going a long time ago, like 18 years ago.’
