Earlier this month, a California elementary school teacher was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old student at a San Diego school.
Jacqueline Ma, who taught grade 6 at Lincoln Acres Elementary School, was charged with six counts of sexual misconduct, including three counts of oral intercourse with a child under the age of 14, and three counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14.
The 34-year-old was one of five teachers in San Diego chosen as ‘Teacher of the Year’ in 2022. According to her LinkedIn page, she has worked at the school since 2013.
It is believed that there was only one victim of some kind of looting. Police said the student no longer attends the school where Ma was attending, and it remains unclear how the abuse came to light.
