Lose weight! The four things you should do to reduce your waistline

  • Only have one cheat meal per week
  • Reduce alcohol consumption
  • Significantly reduce sugar
  • Stop mindless snacking

In the caption, the weight loss coach shared her tips for other people trying to lose weight.

First, the now 38-year-old explained that she limited herself to just one cheat meal per week.

She explained: ‘I limited myself to one fun meal per week (and I mean really fun). For me, that was always pizza. I love my pizza and I will never give it up, lol.

‘I really enjoy the meals I eat throughout the week and I understand that one treat isn’t going to derail my entire process, so I allow myself to indulge without feeling guilty about it.’

In addition to eating pizza only once a week, Tameika gave up alcohol.

She explained that while she still drank in social settings, she had significantly reduced her consumption.

“I limited alcoholic beverages to special occasions… and limited myself to only a few drinks, being mindful of the sugar content,” she added.

As she was paying attention to the sugar in her drinks, she was also paying attention to the total amount of sugar she was putting into her body.

This meant that she created a limit on how much candy she could eat.

“I significantly cut down on added sugar. My dependence on sugar was holding me back. As much as I wanted to find balance, the addiction was real,” Tameika said.

Lastly, the weight loss expert admitted that she cut out “mindless snacking,” which helped her maintain a calorie deficit.

She added: ‘I stopped mindlessly snacking. Instead of buying chips, crackers and biscuits at the supermarket, I took my snacks more seriously and opted for things with protein and fibre.

“I also limited the sauces and oils I used in my meals. This really helped me overcome persistent plateaus.”

Tameika lost a significant amount of weight in 2007 and has since kept it off through diet and intense exercise.
