The wife of a wealthy Texas lawyer killed her husband and then herself in their sprawling mansion, police say.
Jerry Hernandez, 61, and his wife Sonia, 52, were found dead on the $1.6 million Shavano Park property Wednesday morning.
Police say they were called to the address shortly before 8 a.m. after receiving reports of gunshots at the four-bedroom, five-bathroom home that has beautifully manicured grounds.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Jerry’s death a homicide and his wife’s a suicide.
It remains unclear what triggered the horrific bloodbath or how the killings were carried out.

According to an online profile of Hernandez, he has worked as an attorney for more than thirty years and has specialized in personal injury.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in 1985 from the University of Texas at Austin, and then earned his law degree from Western California School of Law in 1988.
In 2017, he was named one of the best personal injury lawyers by SA Scene magazine and is often asked to speak to groups of lawyers about courtroom tactics.
Online records show Sonia owned a beauty boutique. The couple has a daughter, Bianca Rose, 25.
