Rachel Hansen was 19 years old and engaged to be married when the suspect broke into her home and shot her to death in the early morning hours of June 4, 2022.

Now, his final words have been published in a redacted police transcript released to Arizona Family as part of an effort to bring the case back to public light and locate the gunman.

“I got shot. Someone came in and shot me,” Rachel told a 911 operator as she bled from a single gunshot wound in her final moments.

“Please hurry, please hurry,” he said. “I’m bleeding, I’m bleeding.”

An operator asked Rachel to stay on the line and added: “Do you have any kind of clean cloth you can apply pressure to? Is anyone with you?”

The teenager replied that she was alone and that the gunman had left.

“Do you have any kind of cloth, shirt or towel nearby that I can use?” the operator asks, to which the teenager replies “no.”

“Is there nothing near you? Rachel, I need you to talk to me, okay?” the operator said.

“I can’t,” the teenager said, before succumbing to her injuries.

Police and firefighters can be heard trying to locate Rachel’s address, before arriving about four and a half minutes later.

Gilbert police responded to the call from Rachel’s apartment in a gated community on the southeast outskirts of Phoenix at 2 a.m. on June 4, 2022.

The department said in a press release at the time she suffered a single gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at Chandler Regional Medical Center.

Rachel’s heartbroken family has been waiting for answers ever since.

The teen’s father, Todd Hansen, also said he had distributed 500 flyers about his daughter’s murder in hopes that someone with information would come forward.

“Somehow, someone, somewhere knows something about my sweet daughter Rachel Hansen,” she wrote on Facebook on August 25.

“Maybe some closure on how or why he died might help us,” he added in a recent interview with KNXV.

“That a 19-year-old girl was murdered in the city of Gilbert was unheard of.”

“It’s like it happened yesterday,” added Rachel’s mother, Kim Hansen.

“It’s actually kind of unbelievable because I feel like it’s been two years and we should have something, and we have nothing.”

In another interview with Arizona Family, Kim added that her daughter had just gotten engaged and was looking forward to a happy future.

“I was very excited. They were both very excited. They were young and just starting their lives,” she said.

The Gilbert Police Department issued a statement to Law and crime on the anniversary of Rachel’s death this year.

“As we approach the second year since the unfortunate homicide of Rachel Hansen, this case remains a top priority for the Gilbert Police Department,” the agency said.

‘We understand how difficult lengthy investigations can be for the families and friends of victims, as well as our community.

“We want to emphasize that this is a highly sensitive case and we must be cautious that any information shared does not jeopardize our investigation or our steadfast efforts to bring justice to Rachel and her loved ones.”
