Jennifer Aniston sparked plastic surgery rumors when she hit the red carpet to promote her TV show in Los Angeles last weekend.
The 55-year-old apparently had a swollen area under her left eye and also more swollen lips, and fans said she looked visibly more “tired” than usual.
Now, a plastic surgeon claims the new look is due to a botched cosmetic procedure or what he described as “a filler gone wrong.”
Dr. Richard Devine stated that this is probably because too much gel-like substance was injected into the tear trough, the area between the lower eyelid and the cheek.
Tear filler is popular among celebrities and anti-aging because it helps with sagging, crow’s feet, and bags under the eyes.
Dr. Richard Devine, a plastic surgeon in the United Kingdom, revealed on TikTok that he thought Jennifer Aniston had had fillers.

“What we’re seeing here is the tear filling gone wrong,” he said in a video on social media.
“Complications like this occur when too much filler is injected, or when the type of product used attracts too much water, and then… the area becomes inflamed,” he added.
Aniston was filmed at an event for her Apple TV+ series ‘The Morning Show’.
Dr. Devine continued, “The filler projects so much that it’s actually causing shadows to form around your eyes and these deep wrinkles in the middle of your cheek, which is actually making you look more tired and older.”
As people age, the under-eye area may begin to look sunken due to a natural loss of volume in the face, caused by a gradual loss of fat cells.
To counteract this, many receive filler in the area of the tear trough, the groove that runs from the bottom of the inner eyelid to the cheek.
Surgeons tend to use hyaluronic acid as a filler, which works by attracting water to the area to make it appear plumper.
But this usually takes between a few days and weeks to resolve.
Dr. Elie Levine, a New York City plastic surgeon, also suggested to DailyMail.com that the swelling under the left eyelid was likely due to filler.
“She has some swelling under her left eye, and it’s probably swelling after she had fillers put in there at some point,” he said.
“That can happen after doing it just once, or doing it repeatedly, and at 55 years old I think it’s naïve to suggest that she hasn’t dabbled in that.”
He added: “This is an area where we see some swelling in a rare number of patients.”
‘This may happen because the skin is very thin there, or because the lymphatic area, which drains fluids, may become irritated or compromised in a way that causes swelling.
“Sometimes dissolved fillers can help solve this problem; lasers can also be used to help tighten the skin in that area.”
Dr. Levine also noted that there also appeared to be a slightly swollen area under Aniston’s left eye in March 2023, suggesting that the difference in the images may also be related to makeup; Aniston may be hiding the swelling less in more recent photos.
On his lips, he said, they seemed fuller.
Aniston hinted that she had used fillers in 2011, saying, “I’m not saying I haven’t tried it… but I see it’s a slippery slope.”
She hasn’t talked about fillers recently, but other surgeons have also speculated that the star has been using them, with one saying last month that her face now appears to be “overfilled.”
It has also been speculated that it has had filling in your nasolabial fold, or the fold that goes from the edge of your nose to the corner of your mouth, and to your lips.
DailyMail.com has contacted her representatives for comment on allegations that she had used under-eye fillers.
Aniston appeared on the red carpet during a For Your Consideration (FTC) event to promote The Morning Show, a three-season series on Apple TV that exposes the cutthroat world of morning television, in which she plays one of the main characters . . In entertainment, an FTC event is one in which actors present their work to members of an awarding body.
After seeing his appearance, one social media user commented, “I think he looks sad, like he doesn’t want to smile or be there.”
A second said: “She didn’t need anything done to her, she was absolutely beautiful just the way she was.”
A third added: “Doesn’t make her look younger.”
Aniston also revealed in 2017 that she underwent surgery on her nose to repair a deviated septum or to realign the cartilage spilling over both nostrils.
“(It was) the best thing I’ve ever done,” he said at the time, “I slept like a baby for the first time in years.”
‘As for all the rest (rumors), as boring as it may seem, it’s still mine. All of this. Being mine.’
Aniston was photographed in March of this year with Sandra Bullock, 59, leaving a plastic surgery office in Connecticut known for facelifts and rhinoplasties.
