The 29-year-old content creator has an eye for design and is obsessed with bringing spaces to life by adding color, layering rugs, investing in art, and keeping an eye out for unique decor.

While Rowi is known for sharing bold makeup looks and has previously collaborated with Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty, she has shared her interior design secrets with FEMAIL.

Rowi, who was featured in Forbes Australia in 2022 alongside the likes of YouTuber Tammy Hembrow and comedian Christian Hull, described her style as “kind-hearted, colourful, maximalist and eclectic”.

Rowi described his style as “bond, colourful, maximalist and eclectic”. “I’ve always been interested in interior design, but I never had the opportunity to design a space myself until I moved house,” she said.

Their epic loft-style home features a green velvet couch, several colorful pedestals, a locker nightstand, countless houseplants, extravagant candles, and a “melting” lamp.

And the enormous 8m floor-to-ceiling windows invite natural light inside to illuminate the spaces on all three levels.

“I started by decorating the living room and bought the essentials first, like the couch and a rug, and then worked my way up,” she said.

“Starting with the largest pieces can help you dictate a color palette based on what you’re drawn to.”

Rowi encouraged others to “take their time” when choosing the right furniture for them and to “not rush” into anything, especially when it comes to big-ticket purchases.

“I usually find something I like, then I think about it for a few weeks or months and then I come back to it to see if I still like it,” he said.

‘My creativity with my makeup and my interior design are definitely linked. “I have always been a creative person and decorating comes very naturally to me,” he said.

“I like collecting things, finding new places to put them, and looking online at how others design their homes.”

She laughed after admitting that she probably has too many pedestals and houseplants.

While many choose to DIY their own furniture, Rowi said she prefers to buy second-hand items on Facebook Marketplace or convenience stores and has managed to get some items for free.

But in saying that, he invested in a good quality mattress and original artwork from local artists, and the most expensive thing in his apartment is a $1,000 piece of art.

The kitchen is pretty simple with a “melting” mirror, vase, cookbooks and diffuser.

Rowi said one of the hardest parts of decorating is visualizing whether something will look good in the house or not.

“One time I picked something up, took it home and realized I had taken completely the wrong steps,” Rowi said.

‘When purchasing home decor items, make sure it’s a carefully considered choice. Don’t follow trends because you may not like it when it goes out of style.

“You have to ask yourself if you really like something or if you just like it because you’ve seen it everywhere.”

One concern with the maximalist style is the risk of falling into disordered territory.

Rowi recommends taking a step back from your space and trying to see it differently.

“There’s a fine line between hoarding and collecting pieces; if you go for extreme maximalism, make sure you move things around so they don’t clutter the space,” she said.

As for what he would never own, Rowi doesn’t like anything to do with gaming because it’s “not his thing” and says it “kills his vibe.”

‘I’ve seen some cute setups on TikTok, but they’re not for me. “I hate seeing wires sticking out everywhere and I’m not a gamer, so it’s a no from me,” she said.

Exposed wires are a big interior design pet peeve, and to hide any sight of wires, he changed the legs of his TV stand to sit lower.
