Nearly half of Britons are not physically or emotionally satisfied with their sex life, according to a global survey

India tops the charts as the nation with the highest number of sexually satisfied residents, according to a survey of people in 36 countries.

The survey of nearly 30,000 people concluded that the birthplace of the Kama Sutra was the country where people were happiest with their sexual adventures.

Around 76 percent of Indian lovers who responded to the survey reported being physically satisfied in their sexual relationship, and 73 percent also reported being emotionally satisfied.

This compares with just 56 per cent of people in the UK who were physically satisfied with the sex they were having, according to The sun.

The figure puts Britain at the global average when it comes to physically satisfying sex, which sadly means half of us are left wanting more in the bedroom.

But in a sign that things are improving, the latest UK figure from Durex’s Global Sex Survey 2024 is a third higher compared to 2006.

However, British lovers did not fare so well when it came to emotional satisfaction during sex, with just 51 per cent, well below the global average of 57 per cent.

Alongside India, the Philippines, Mexico, Colombia and South Africa each scored around 70 percent in the top spots for the world’s most physically satisfied lovers.

Globally, levels of physical and emotional sexual satisfaction increased by 12 and 21 percent since the survey began.

Ben Wilson, Global Category Director for Intimate Wellbeing at Reckitt, the company that owns the Durex brand, said: ‘It’s encouraging to see so many people enjoying fulfilling and satisfying sex lives in many of the countries that took part in this year’s survey.

We know that intimate wellness can contribute significantly to overall health and we are committed to ensuring everyone has a positive sex life.

The survey also explored the extent to which sex contributes to people’s overall well-being.

51 percent of sexually satisfied people were found to feel healthier and more confident, while 65 percent reported feeling happier.

Sex, and intimacy in general, has been linked to a number of health benefits, including improving heart health, reducing stress and boosting mental health.
