If you’ve ever constantly set off alarms in stores, pay attention: the reason may already be in your bag.
A TikTok user was left stumped after walking in and out of stores at a mall and ringing the doorbell each time before going online to get to the bottom of it.
In the clip, the creator, who goes by the name Arely, held out her small Coach bag, which measures just 7.5 inches long, explaining the warning sounds that followed her as she entered and exited stores.
“So every time I walk into a store that has security sensors, my bag beeps,” she complained, adding that she bought the small bag online.
‘I have no idea why. “It’s literally so small that I can’t really steal anything,” he added, walking to another store to show patrons what he meant.

In the comments, users tried to help Arely get to the bottom of her strong source of concern.
Many suggested thoroughly checking all pockets, saying they had already found security strips on their designer bags.
“There’s a little pocket inside, you have to open it and take out the security tag. It looks like the Coach logo with a little metal thing on the back,” one user shared.
‘My grandmother had an open battery pack in her bag that went bad for a whole year. “Finally, a grocery store employee was kind enough to go through her bag and disable whatever it might be,” another person shared.

‘Some bags have built-in sensors. It is often a problem with Coach and Kate Spade bags that are not properly deactivated. Most sensors can disable it,” another shared.

Some other Coach customers appear to have experienced similar issues, with a thread on the r/Coach subreddit dedicated to people complaining about the irritating issue.
It appears to date back to 2014, when the coach’s fans complained on a website called Bags forum.
“In each case, the store clerk says it’s Coach’s fault to sew on a security tag,” one user explained at the time.
‘It’s strange because I bought them all from retailers, including a Coach FP store, and have bought them several times with no problems.
‘I wonder if this is happening to anyone else and where are these labels located on the bags?’
