Self-proclaimed exhibitionist Eila Adams, 36, has explained how exposing her breasts and “nether regions” to the Big Apple public has been her nod to gender equality.

Eila, from Toronto, shared: ‘If men can walk around shirtless without fear of reprisal, women should too.

“It’s normal to be naked and by flashing people as I go about my day I’m just having a bit of fun and challenging the status quo.

‘Nudity has been a very important part of my life. I don’t understand anyone who has negative feelings towards nudity.’

Eila continued: “We are all born this way, we have to embrace our own bodies and we have to love the amazing bodies of others.”

Eila was generally received positively during her tour this month, although there have been some embarrassing moments.

“I was in an elevator and a man came in while I had my leg against the wall.

“He was surprised and I felt embarrassed the rest of the way,” she recalled happily.

‘I’ve received some negative comments, but I don’t let the haters get me down.

‘If you do not like do not look. Most people don’t even realize I’m doing something, but if they catch me, I’ll smile, give a thumbs up and laugh.

“T-shirts can brighten a person’s day,” he added comically.

Eila tries to be respectful of the locations she chooses, explaining that she won’t be showing cenotaphs or places of national importance like the 9/11 memorial.

And she has a rule: don’t get caught.

Eila explained: ‘For over 30 years, it has been legal for women to go topless in New York City, which many women have embraced as a sign of gender equality.

“I think showing off is entertaining but it’s also a way to normalize toplessness.

‘I think women should have the same rights as men to go topless in public if they wish. For me it’s a way of life.’

Eila, who also works as a Naked News host and glamor model, recently participated in Toronto’s World Naked Bike Ride to highlight excessive oil use and urban pollution, while supporting the safety of cyclists on our streets.

‘There is something incredibly liberating about cycling through the city, feeling the wind against my skin and making great memories as we all cycled through the heart of this incredible city.

“This was an amazing and fun experience, and I highly recommend everyone ride a bike naked at least once in their life.”
