A Russian tourist who allegedly tried to rape a cow was gored by the animal and had to be rescued by Thai police.
Evgenii Kuvshinov, 26, is said to have stripped naked and approached a male bull before turning his attention to a female tied to a wooden fence in a field in Surat Thani, southern Thailand, yesterday afternoon.
The tourist allegedly tried to mount the cow but she reacted violently, pinning him to the ground and goring him.
Worried neighbours, who suspected the Russian was up to no good when they saw him wandering around naked, had already called the police. They also heard his cries for help as he was attacked and stood by him as they waited for the officers to arrive.

A paramedic from the Ban Na Doem Foundation who treated Kuvshinov said they suspected he had been trying to have sex with the cow.
They said: “We found cannabis in his car, so maybe he was high. The way we found him, his actions suggest he was trying to do something dirty with the cow, that he was trying to have sex with it.”
Police Lieutenant Thongchai Chaikit of Ban Na Doem Kuvshinov Police Station said they received reports of a foreign man in an “altercation” with a cow on August 15 at 5:40 p.m.
The officer said the cow attacked the suspect as he tried to restrain it by holding its head and that he was “lucky that the rescue team arrived to save him.”

Police Lieutenant Thongchai added: “When we arrived at the scene, the suspect was being attacked by the cow. Witnesses said he first went towards a male and then towards the female and tried to climb on top of it.
“It’s possible he was trying to make love to the cow, but we can’t say for sure. There was no semen in her.
‘He kept walking and speaking Russian without any sense. He didn’t smell of alcohol. There was marijuana in his car and his passport was torn up.
‘We sent him to the hospital because he hurt his butt, but he went crazy in the hospital and the doctors wouldn’t admit him, so now he’s detained in our police station.
“Now we are waiting for the tourist police and immigration police to work on it, then we can conduct the investigation.”
