Some of the partygoers were trapped under the deck, said Amy Maxwell, spokesman for the Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management Agency. ABC news on Sunday.

One of the injured, Sondra Teligades, told me WTVC in Chattanooga, that she heard a creaking sound before she fell about two floors.

She was treated in hospital for a concussion and bruising to the ribs on Saturday and has since been released, WTVC reported.

Officials will not know the cause of the collapse until the Hamilton County Building Codes inspect the deck, Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management said.

The Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department, the Soddy Daisy Fire Department, and the Hamilton County EMS responded to the 911 call.

A woman posted on Facebook that she and her family were on deck at 3 p.m., an hour before it collapsed.

During our lunch we sat on the deck that collapsed shortly after we left. My husband took our kids to the dock, ”she said. ‘Super scary! I hope everyone recovers. ‘
