The family of a Michigan teenager who has been missing for months say they were stunned to see him suddenly appear on a Miami influencer’s livestream.
Troy Coleman, 17, disappeared from Mt. Morris Township on May 21, and his family has made desperate pleas for his return within the next seven weeks.
But last week, his family believes he was spotted 1,200 miles from his home on the streets of Miami, and say it was a man who appeared dazed and disoriented as he approached Twitch streamer FaZe Lacy.
The man was seen shirtless and wearing neon green swim shorts, and repeatedly appeared confused during a conversation with the influencer.
The family of missing Michigan teen Troy Coleman, 17, says he is the person who appeared dazed and disoriented on Twitch streamer FaZe Lacy’s recent livestream.
Troy went missing from Mt. Morris Township on May 21, and his family has been making desperate pleas for his return for more than seven weeks since then.
When Troy disappeared in May, his father said he is not a dangerous person but suffers from hallucinations and was taking medication that he did not have with him when he disappeared.
Following several other reported sightings in Michigan that were never confirmed, Troy’s possible whereabouts were revealed by FaZe Lacy when he shared his strange encounter.
The streamer showed an email purportedly from Troy’s brother, Trent, who said the missing teen was the one they had been seen “making fun of.”
“He doesn’t take drugs, he’s schizophrenic,” the email said.
“If anyone can get back to me about this, I would be very grateful. He has been missing for three months and his case has been classified as a homicide in Michigan.”
The email’s reference to the case being “classified as a homicide” appears to indicate that Michigan police were investigating the possibility that Troy was dead.
The Twitch streamer shared a response purportedly from Troy’s brother, identifying him as the person seen in his video.
When Troy went missing in May, his father said he is not a dangerous person, but he suffers from hallucinations and was taking medications he didn’t need.
The person purported to be Troy appeared confused at several points during the broadcast, as he drifted in and out of conversation with the men and another table of young women before walking away.
The person believed to be Troy has not been officially confirmed as the missing teen, and appears much more tanned than in his missing photos.
His family said he was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.
Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact the Flint Township Police Department at 810-600-3250.
In the Twitch streamer’s video, the person purported to be Troy is seen approaching him and another streamer as they sat outside a bar in Miami.
He asks them several times if they are ‘partying’, and his distracted look leads one of the influencers to ask him: ‘Are you okay?’
“Who is it?” she answers, while the two men seemed confused by the encounter.
After several minutes of chatting with the men and another table of young women, he walked away from the gathering and down the street.
