Thousands of people are joining online chat forums to criticize the 34-year-old, saying she is being put down by issues such as her use of planes and her silence on the Gaza conflict.
Under a ’30-day detox’, former fans have said they will block the singer on Spotify, delete her fan pages and donate her merchandise to charity. They are also prohibiting themselves from listening to her music or trying out alternative bands.

‘I deleted my Twitter Swiftie but still use Instagram occasionally. I don’t obsessively save new photos of her like I used to, but I still like to look at them; I didn’t celebrate her birthday this year.’
Another fan posted online: ‘The first few weeks of being a Swiftie, I was obsessed. If he didn’t listen to her, he watched her interviews. She (was) literally all she could think about.
“I still really want to listen to it, but now I’ve been mixing it with Ed Sheeran for other things and I’ve gotten back into video games and other things I like.”
The ‘Swiftly Neutral’ group on Reddit, which has more than 50,000 members, saw its follower count grow by 7,000 in a month after Swift released her latest album The Tortured Poets Department.
One member told Vulture magazine: ‘Now I feel a little disappointed in her. She has done a lot of wonderful things for charity and I don’t want to downplay that. However, her use of her planes, her brazen cash thefts, and the horrible quality of her merchandise have become a little more evident.
Swift, known for her hits like Love Story and Shake It Off, reportedly has a carbon footprint 1,928 times larger than the global average due to the use of her private jet.
She is set to bring her Eras tour to the UK next month, with tickets selling for up to £661.
