A Place In The Sun’s Scarlette Douglas was rushed to A&E after suffering from ‘strange numbness and tingling’ on Thursday.
The 36-year-old presenter, who is currently freezing her eggs, admitted she had been getting ‘strange sensations’ in her arms and legs.
While getting ready for an awards show, Scarlette explained how she had ‘freaked herself out’ by Googling her symptoms.
In the clip shared on Instagram, she began: ‘I’m hosting an awards show today, which means on my break I’m going to run to the bathroom here and glamorously do one of my injections.
‘I’ve noticed over the last few days that I’ve been getting like a slightly numbing tingling sensation in my left arm and a little bit in my left leg.’
A Place In The Sun’s Scarlette Douglas revealed she was rushed to A&E after suffering a ‘strange numbness and tingling’ on Instagram on Thursday
The 36-year-old presenter, who is currently freezing her eggs, updated her followers on how she was doing
She continued: ‘It feels like a dead arm, dead leg, you know when you sleep on something funny.
“So at first I thought that’s probably what it is, but then apparently Doctor Google freaked me out and made me think it could be something worse.”
In another update, Scarlette added: ‘So I called the clinic today, they said to go to the ER when I can. Just to triple check everything is okay, so I will do that after the awards show tonight.
“Make sure I don’t have any blood clots and also make sure there’s no ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome going on.
‘Now I only had a scan on Tuesday, and it showed that everything was actually fine. So I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about, but if you’ve been through this process and if you’ve noticed, please let me know.’
Scarlette is in the process of freezing her eggs after admitting ’37 came so fast’ and she hopes to protect her ‘future offspring’.
Egg freezing means going through the IVF process, which typically takes two to three weeks.
This involves taking medication to increase the production of eggs and also to help the eggs mature.
She said: ‘I’ve noticed over the last few days that I’ve been getting a slight numbing tingling sensation in my left arm and a little bit in my left leg’ (pictured two weeks ago)
She said: ‘I learned so much about my eggs and the process of vitrification at @barbadosivf. I really wish it was something I learned when I was younger, or at least talked about more thoroughly.
‘Yes, my aunt and friends had encouraged me to do it in my younger years, but I didn’t think for a second that it would be something I would consider, let alone think about at the time, but who knew 37 would come around so fast?!’
The TV presenter added: ‘I really should have intervened when they first said it all those years ago.
‘I can’t turn back time now, but I can move forward as quickly as possible (of course armed with the new knowledge I now have) and not wait a minute longer to protect my future offspring.’
She is currently 14 days into her egg freezing journey.
