A newlywed couple reveals how a flight attendant saved their honeymoon by searching for a forgotten passport

A newlywed couple nearly misses their honeymoon after the bride forgot her passport, but her flight attendant saved the day by bringing the document just in time for her international cruise.

Lawryn and Joe Fellwock were flying from Detroit, Michigan, to San Juan, Puerto Rico, after their intimate courtroom wedding, when she realized she didn’t have her passport.

“If I had to blame anything, I was a girl who was getting married,” she said. inside edition. “I had a complete cold sweat moment when I realized I left it in my closet at home, and I turned to Joe and said, ‘I don’t have my passport. What should I do?’

Without the government document, he would not be allowed to board the Caribbean cruise, but they could not find a way to get his passport in time.

The Fellwocks had nearly given up hope when they explained their situation to Delta flight attendant Dusty Dills, who sprang into action.

With the help of her Delta co-workers, Katy Yates and Karla Maisonet, she was able to come up with a plan to get Lawryn’s passport to San Juan.

First, the couple had Joe’s sister-in-law, Jackie Fellwock, take his passport from home and bring it to Dusty at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport, where he arrived on a return flight that night.

The next day, Dusty flew to Georgia and handed it over to Atlanta-based flight attendant Jeff Mendez, who handed the passport over to customer service agent Juan Arroyo at Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in Puerto Rico.

“I picked it up on the desk and said, ‘I know this may sound strange, but I think my passport was left here,'” Lawryn told Inside Edition. “Their faces of hers lit up and they were so excited like, ‘You’re the girl with the passport.'”

“We were so touched and grateful – a renewed faith in humanity was the best wedding gift,” Lawryn said in a statement to the airline.

The Fellwocks were so appreciative that they invited Dusty and another Delta employee who helped them get their passports to their wedding reception the next month.

After taking her passport, they were able to board their cruise ship at the very last moment.

“The whole experience was surreal. Joe and I were desperate to find a way to salvage our honeymoon and just when we thought we were out of options, Dusty offers his personal time to help us out,” Lawryn said in a statement.

“We were very touched and grateful: a renewed faith in humanity was the best wedding gift. We owe our post-wedding happiness to Dusty and the Delta family!

In a video shared by Delta, Dusty credited the teamwork at the airline with helping him save the couple’s honeymoon.

“This was so much bigger than me,” he said.

The Fellwocks were so appreciative that they invited Dusty and another Delta employee who helped them get their passports to their wedding reception the next month.

Lawryn told him abc7 detroit that she’s excited to introduce Dusty to her family and friends, saying, “I hope we stay friends for a lot longer after this.”
