Mom Allegedly Drowned 7-Year-Old Daughter in Creek Because She Wanted ‘Time Alone’

A Tennessee mother, Brandi Elliott, is facing a first-degree murder charge after authorities allege she drowned her daughter. The Hendersonville Police Department announced the charge in a news release, but it’s unclear if Elliott has pleaded guilty or hired an attorney to represent her.

On July 13, police responded to a report of a drowning in Drakes Creek in Hendersonville, a suburb of Nashville. It was initially reported as an accident, but investigators later determined that Elliott was allegedly responsible for the death of her 7-year-old daughter.

Court documents obtained by What the fuck reveal that Elliott allegedly drowned his daughter, Piper, after expressing her need for “alone time.” documentsElliott held her daughter under water until she “felt bubbling” and told her to be quiet. After the drowning, Elliott reportedly attempted to resuscitate Piper using CPR, but the child was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Piper was identified by his loved ones through a GoFundMe Campaign Created by a family friend of her father, Jon Elliott, the campaign aims to raise funds for funeral arrangements and other expenses while Jon is hospitalized for unspecified reasons. The campaign poignantly notes, “Piper brought her dad a bunch of coloring pages that she colored for him to hang on the wall of his hospital room (and) a few hours later she was murdered.”

As the community grapples with the tragedy, questions remain about the circumstances leading up to the alleged murder and the mother’s mental state. The case highlights the devastating impact of domestic violence and the importance of supporting those affected by such incidents.

Hendersonville police have asked anyone with information about the case to contact the department at 615-264-5303 or Hendersonville Crime Stoppers at 615-594-4113.
