An overly excited mother-in-law ruined her child’s gender reveal, leaving an expectant mother in shock.
David Wilson and his wife Shannon held a gender reveal party this summer to celebrate the upcoming birth of their second child.
The two decided to reveal the baby’s gender using confetti shooters and provided one to all the party attendees, including David’s eager mother.
Unfortunately, the grandmother couldn’t wait to find out the gender and used her confetti launcher before the couple had a chance to do it themselves, as seen in a TikTok. video Shannon posted.

David Wilson and his wife Shannon were hosting a gender reveal party when the soon-to-be father-of-two’s mother used the confetti launcher in front of everyone in the room.
The Wilsons had been excited to celebrate the holiday ever since they became pregnant.

“This time, I wanted to have the people we love participate as well. Plus, it would have been great for photos.”
They were optimistic that the gender reveal would go off without a hitch before Daniel’s mom used her confetti launcher ahead of time.
“We were giving instructions and I specifically told them we would all do it together,” Shannon said.
“I even told them that if anyone blew it up early, I would kill them. So the fact that it actually happened was more of a surprise and disappointment than an upset.”
David’s mother didn’t explain why she blew it up early, but Shannon believed it was because her monster brother-in-law “wasn’t listening.”
David’s mom used the confetti launcher as Shannon explained what she and her husband wanted to do for the gender reveal.
Although Shannon was disappointed with the June 30 video, she and David stuck to the original reveal plan during a July 1st TikTok.
“We busted them anyway. No name calling, no one got mad… It was okay guys,” Shannon wrote.
Daniel also forgave his mother for the mistake, and immediately started smiling and dancing after using his confetti launcher.
Both are now awaiting the arrival of their second child, who will be a boy.

More than 3,300 TikTok users commented on the video, with several blaming Daniel’s mother-in-law for the failed gender reveal.
“The fact is, it’s not easy to blow it up, so it was 100 percent intentional,” one TikToker wrote.
Another commenter wrote: How could someone accidentally twist it to the point of bursting? There is no way this was unintentional.
Others blamed Daniel and Shannon for the shocking turn of events, with one person believing it was an example of why the unborn baby’s mom and dad should be the only ones to reveal the gender.
“Why would they give one to everyone? That’s their fault,” wrote one commenter.
“That’s why we opened the envelope at home. People don’t want to see you happy,” one person wrote.
