A man was shocked to see dirt and grime in his washing machine after he put it through a cleaning cycle with dishwasher tablets.
After washing his sheets, Billy Sarris decided to give the washing machine a good clean and noticed a strange smell emanating from the machine afterwards.
He decided to run the machine through a very hot cycle with two dishwashing tablets inside to clean it and get rid of the smell.
After only 15 minutes he started seeing dirt in the soapy water on his front bearing and after 40 minutes more dirt was revealed.
Bailey said that after putting dishwasher tablets in the machine, it smelled “fresh” and clean enough to put his sheets through a cycle again.

“So I just washed my sheets and when I opened the door to the washing machine, I smelled something funky, so I thought to myself ‘Oh, this washer deserves a little TLC,’” Billy said on TikTok. section.
Put two dishwasher tablets in the drum and set the washing machine to the highest possible temperature.
After 15 minutes, Billy could see dirt among the suds in the drum and even more after 40 minutes.
Towards the end of the course, Billy happily reported that the water was clear, free of dirt, and smelled “fresh” when he finished.

Dishwasher tablets do not contain this soap. That’s all detergent residue, one viewer pointed out.
Others have shared their tips they use to keep their washing machines clean and mold free.
‘The appliance rep is here. You’re supposed to keep the door open after every wash to allow the water to evaporate. That helps!’ said a woman.
Next time, you clean the drum at 90 degrees with a spray of bleach. Be warned that dishwashing tablets can cause problems with the hose.
