Channel Seven has confirmed that a major international musician will replace Keith Urban on the upcoming season of The Voice Australia.

During the Seven Upfronts on Tuesday, host Sonia Kruger revealed that the 2023 season will see a household name join the panel of coaches.

While the 57-year-old didn’t give any clue as to who will be competing in the competition next year, she indicated it will be a “big star.”

It comes after Keith revealed that he’d decided to put his family first by cutting back on his work commitments.

“I don’t really consider it the end of a chapter at all, because I love doing the show,” he told The Sunday Telegraph earlier this month.

“I love that those last two seasons happened and could happen for me because I loved doing it. I feel very close to everyone on set and hopefully the door can stay open because I would jump right back.

“Just as The Voice in America has a number of coaches who come and go depending on their schedules, I would like to hope that The Voice would give me that opportunity too.”

He said he was trying to balance his schedule with his wife Nicole Kidman so they could take their kids home with their grandparents and extended family for the holidays.

Keith kicks off his tour of Australia on December 1 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Center.
