Australians are at loggerheads after a thread identifying everything they use as “fake” went viral – and some of it was deemed a little “too personal”.
There are several gadgets and gizmos that are difficult to use, as well as some traffic rules and language standards that many cannot understand.
Many also reported people misusing email functions or putting their phones on speaker in public.
“What is something that almost everyone uses incorrectly? » asked an Australian on Reddit.

Technological incidents
Many Australians have been accused of misusing their phones.
“I hate when people put their phones on speaker in public,” one woman shared. “Or when they listen to music on the train without headphones. It’s hard!’
Email is also difficult to navigate for many – especially the “Reply All” feature.
“No one knows how to use ‘Reply All’. When your company sends out a mass email congratulating the new project manager, I don’t need to see 200 emails echoing the same sentiment,” said declared a woman.
Language errors
One woman revealed that many misuse apostrophes for plurals.
“The number of times I’ve seen ‘pizza’ or something like that makes my head hurt,” she said.
Another said thousands of people don’t know the proper turns of phrase.
For example, people may use “intensive goals” instead of “intentions and objectives”; “mute point” instead of “debatable point”; and “in itself” instead of “in itself”.
The third problem was the overuse of the word “irony.”
“Nine times out of ten it’s a coincidence, not an irony,” says one man.
“It’s not ironic that you were just talking about a song and now it’s on the radio. It’s a coincidence. It’s ironic if you say a station never plays Nirvana, and the next song is Nirvana because it’s the opposite of what was said/expected.

Public transport and driving etiquette
“No one knows how to get on a train or an elevator,” one woman said. “You let the people on board out before you enter!” »
“Most people can’t use turn signals on cars,” wrote another. “This should serve as a warning, not a courtesy. If it is used, it often seems like an afterthought.
One agreed: “The warning lights are supposed to come on before you start slowing down to take a turn.
Rating systems
Many agreed that five-star rating systems are misused and that people have “unreasonable expectations” when it comes to rates.
“Three stars should be average and good, but everyone uses five stars or one star and very few people grade subtly.”
One woman wrote: “Due to intentional bias, it is more common for those who have had the most extreme experiences to leave comments or comments on public forums. »
Another also explained how with interfaces like delivery apps, anything less than a perfect score is punished.
