Chloe, a Kmart Australia shopper from Melbourne, said her hands were left bloody after a glass window broke on her hand.

A Kmart shopper has issued a warning after claiming a product on display broke in her hand.

Chloe from Melbourne picked up one of the ribbed Hiball linear tumblers (which come in a pack of six for $14) to see how it felt.

But to his surprise, it broke and pierced his hand, causing blood to flow to the ground.

A store employee came over to help, provided tissues and helped clean up the mess.

Sharing the details on Facebook, Chloe wrote: ‘It’s not actually a trick, it’s more of a warning not to buy!

“I was shopping at Kmart today and picked up a glass cup to see what it felt like, when it completely shattered in my hand. The scene was quite graphic, as the thin glass got stuck in my hand and there was a lot of blood.”

Chloe was stunned by the experience and warned other shoppers to be careful when picking up the “fine” product and to think twice before purchasing it.

Moral of the story: don’t buy tall, linear glasses. They’re very thin and not at all durable,” he continued.

“Thanks to the Kmart staff in the store who came quickly to help me and clean up,” Chloe said.

While the product is “visually pleasing” and described as dishwasher safe, Kmart fans have said otherwise.

Many who purchased the product claimed that it broke quickly after purchase.

“We bought these and they all broke. Lots of cutting and glass cleaning. Don’t buy them!” wrote one.

“The exact same thing happened to me two weeks ago,” said another.

A third added: “I had the tall and petite models and every single one of them broke during a hand wash after having them for over a year.”

“Mine also broke VERY easily. I also had an incident while washing dishes and ended up with three stitches,” another added.

Hundreds more people were shocked by the claims, with many saying the products should be “pulled off the shelves.”

“Wow! I’ve had mine for a couple years now and I’ve never had one break,” one person wrote.

“I’ve heard so many stories about what’s going on, I’m surprised they still sell them,” said another.

But one customer said bluntly: “Kmart is cheap, so we can’t expect good quality. You get what you pay for.”

A Kmart Australia spokesperson told FEMAIL that customers are advised to contact customer services if a problem arises.

“We take the quality and safety of all our products very seriously and our team is investigating these experiences,” the spokesperson said.

‘We encourage any customer who experiences an issue with a product to contact our customer service team to ensure it can be properly investigated.’
