The authority said on its Instagram account that it had dealt with a report received by the operations room stating that a fire had occurred in a house in the Moazziz area.
The specialized teams went “immediately to the site of the accident, and began rescue, evacuation, firefighting and ambulance operations.”
The accident resulted in “the death of 6 people, two serious injuries, and 5 moderate injuries,” according to the authority, which said that investigations are still underway to find out the causes of the fire by the competent authorities.
The nationalities of the victims were not immediately clear.
Last month, 16 people died and nine others were injured in a fire that broke out in a residential building located in a popular area in Dubai, according to the emirate’s government media office in a statement.
