Golf star Joel Dahmen’s caddie Geno Bonnalie put his skills to the test on the course after mocking Noah Lyles’ performances at the Paris Olympics.
The 40-year-old normally spends his weeks 72 holes carrying the clubs of the world number 186.
This week, Dahmen and Bonnalie are competing at the Wyndham Championship in North Carolina. But when the first round was delayed due to a tropical storm, they found other ways to entertain themselves.
On Thursday afternoon in Paris, Lyles failed in his attempt to complete the 100-200m double at the Olympics, taking bronze in the 200m final.
After the race, the Team USA star, who later revealed he was suffering from COVID, required medical attention on the track.
Geno Bonnalie, golf star Joel Dahmen’s caddie, ran 200 meters after taunting Noah Lyles
The 40-year-old usually spends his weeks carrying the clubs of the world number 186.
“Noah Lyles… ‘Oh, my lungs hurt after running 200 meters and I’m the best in the world!'” Bonnalie said in a video posted on social media.
Dahmen then challenged his caddie to show how fast he could run the 200 metres. “I’ve got the over/under in 32 seconds,” the golfer said, to which Bonnalie replied: “It’s probably close.”
So when the storm briefly abated, they hit the road, with Dahmen filming while Bonnalie ran his own race.
“I haven’t run 200 meters straight since high school,” the caddie joked. But they even incorporated a curve in the road to replicate Lyles and company in Paris.
Dahmen drove alongside his caddie, reaching speeds of 13 mph and eventually finishing in 34 seconds before collapsing to the ground.
“I felt my breasts moving down,” Bonnalie said. “I might have a salad for dinner… I need a banana to help with the cramps.”
Dahmen eventually stopped the clock at 34 seconds after taunting Team USA star Lyles
“I need a banana to stop the pain,” the caddie said after his 200-meter race.
