A South American migrant was verbally attacked by a neighbour in a shocking tirade that lasted ten minutes.
Brandon, who arrived from Colombia 18 months ago, filmed the man’s speech on his phone after he jumped a fence and confronted him outside the Mile End apartment building in Adelaide’s inner west.
“Don’t stand there telling me what to do in my own country, you bastard. It’s my country,” the neighbor said.
The man then uttered a series of insults before threatening to physically attack Brandon.
“I’ll go in, get my gun and shoot you,” the man said.
Brandon said he is now worried that the man may have another outburst and not be able to relax where he lives.
“I’m scared because he’s bigger than me, maybe he’s drunk, he has beer bottles,” she said. Nine news.
He moved into the Mile End apartment building, next door to the man’s single-story Federation-style house, three months ago.
Colombian migrant Brandon (pictured) said he feared for his safety after being accosted by the neighbour outside his apartment block in Adelaide.
The neighbor (pictured) told Brandon that Australia was his country and threatened violence.
Despite the incident, Brandon said he has a lot of affection for Australia.
“I love Australia, I really do… I have a special place in my heart. I really would love to stay here.”
The man in the video denied to Nine News that he was being racist, but declined to comment further.
