Former NFL linebacker Anthony Barr's Los Angeles home was ransacked by burglars on Friday

The Los Angeles home of former Minnesota Vikings and Dallas Cowboys linebacker Anthony Barr was reportedly ransacked by burglars on Friday.

TMZ Sports Barr, who is currently a free agent after his recent stint with the Vikings, claims he was not at the property when three men smashed a back window and robbed it around 2 a.m. Friday.

It is believed that security cameras caught the robbers in action before police were notified, only for officers to discover the robbers had escaped when they arrived.

It is unclear what was stolen in the robbery, and no arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.

Barr is one of several high-profile figures who have been robbed in Los Angeles recently, including American actor and comedian Marlon Wayans and former NBA star Paul Pierce.

The 32-year-old has spent nine years in the NFL after enjoying an impressive college career at UCLA before being selected with the ninth overall pick in the 2014 draft by the Vikings.

He spent eight seasons in Minnesota the first time around, making 98 appearances and earning four Pro-Bowl selections between 2015 and 2018.

After being released in 2022, Barr signed as a free agent with the Dallas Cowboys, where he was not re-signed after his first and only season was marred by injuries.

The Indiana native returned to Minnesota to join the practice squad in November and was signed to the active roster a month later, only to leave for a second time after failing to report.

It remains to be seen whether Barr will be signed by a new team ahead of the 2024-25 campaign, as the Green Bay Packers have been rumored to be interested in the former Vikings player this offseason.
