His wife Heather was admitted to a different hospital at the same time because her condition needed to be monitored at 28 weeks after what a friend called a “difficult” pregnancy. His daughter, RaeLynn, was born on February 14 and remains in a NICU.

He is scheduled to spend the next ten weeks in a NICU under observation.

Heather Wright goes back and forth from one hospital to another to care for them both, while Robert remains hospitalized.

He is currently using a heart pump to keep blood flowing and let his heart rest, according to WAFB.

Heather, who met Robert in high school, maintains a positive attitude, saying, “Cherish your family, love your family, you never know what can happen at any moment.”

Friends and family have launched a GoFundMetrying to raise $50,000 to get the family back on their feet.

It was there that Heather gave an update on the health of her husband and daughter, with good news for both of them.

“Raelynn is doing great in the NICU, she doesn’t need oxygen and feeding is going well,” he wrote.

‘Rob is out of ICU and we expect him to be discharged this week. We have a lot of recovery ahead of us, but we are grateful for both of them.”

The GoFundMe states that Robert and Heather, a real estate agent, “have spent most of their adult lives protecting and caring for those around them, including family, friends, and even complete strangers.”
