Parents grieving the loss of their young daughter have performed one last act of kindness in her name by donating the five-year-old’s organs.
Aurora Masters died on May 13 after a freak accident in which she strangled herself on a disc swing just five days earlier.
Masters’ family says Aurora suffered fatal brain damage and turned off her life support machine after the accident.
Tom and Krystal Masters confirmed that their organs were given to Donor Alliance, an organization that ‘facilitates the process of donating organs and tissues for transplants throughout Colorado and most of Wyoming.’
“We know Aurora’s heart is beating somewhere,” Krysal said, with Tom adding that it “really helps” them live with it, despite their pain.

The family describes it as a last act of kindness from a girl who always wanted to help and lead.

Aurora, of Fort Collins, moved her small plastic slide closer to her disc swing while playing in the yard of her family’s well-kept home.
But when he fell down the slide, he ended up trapping his neck in the ropes of the swing.

The family joined the Masters with 19 members who came from the states of Wyoming and Nebraska to be at Aurora’s bedside.

The family has struggled to understand how the accident occurred.
But it seems to have happened while the young girl was innocently playing alone outside.

“She came when I was in a really bad mental health place,” he said. the denver mail. “There seemed to be something almost magical about her.”

Krystal says she hopes her daughter’s story encourages other families to embrace their children.
