A Dozen dolphins are spotted enjoying a synchronised surf off the coast of Sydney

Date:

A dozen dolphins are spotted enjoying synchronized surfing off Sydney in a jaw-dropping image

  • A striking photo shows at least 12 dolphins riding a wave off Sydney, Australia
  • Dolphins are often seen riding waves or swimming in the wake of small boats

They may not have swum in sync on porpoises, but these dolphins certainly love to surf.

A group of at least 12 people were spotted riding the same wave near the shore at Manly Beach in Sydney, Australia.

Photographer Jessica Blacklow, 46, from New South Wales, captured the precise moment the mammals lined up next to each other behind a breaking wave.

“I didn’t expect there to be so many on the same wave, it was crazy,” she said.

But pod surfing is a particularly common pastime for the creatures, which can often be seen riding in the wake of the swell behind boats.
