Two senior US officials and a former senior administration official said the Chinese spy balloon, which was a few over the US in February, gathered intelligence from several US military sites before it was shot down.

Officials said the information gathered was mostly from electronic signals, not photos.
Officials said earlier that the balloon is capable of gathering intelligence signals.
