An inexperienced black worker casually revealed the exorbitant amount of money he can make in just one week.

The Queensland tree surgeon, in to TikTok Getahead Job Application Video,
He said he currently makes $35, but had previously raised $26,000 in cash.

Dressed in reflective gear, a cap and sunglasses, he also joked about what led him to this unique and somewhat unusual profession.

“When I was a kid, I fell out of a tree and broke my back in four places,” he explained.

“It’s ironic that I became a tree surgeon. I’m getting my revenge.”

After a while, however, the Queenslander said he learned to “love trees”.

“(After a while) you respect them a little bit more,” he said.

“I love them, I think they’re great.”

The young worker said he had experienced times when not everyone was happy with his job.

“We had this tree hugger and he chained himself to this tree,” he said.

‘The old friend ended up knocking him out and dragging him down the street.

“And I thought, ‘I love this job.'”

Australians were quick to embrace the “legend”, calling him “funny” and “a king”.

“Give this guy a TV show,” wrote one.

“He was such a good storyteller that I listened to him twice,” said another.

“I could hear this man reciting the phone book,” said one Australian.

“Best Getahead interview yet,” wrote one.

Another added: ‘$26,000 tree trimming, nice job bro.’

Recent videos of Australians revealing their take-home pay have sparked some backlash, with some people questioning whether blue-collar workers are really worth the high salaries they receive.

In another TikTok video, the tree trimmer appears with other workers revealing their wages, news.com.au reported.

A diesel engine installer earned $130 an hour, or at least $250,000 a year if he worked a standard 38-hour week.

There was also an auto electrician who made a whopping $120,000 a year.

But industry experts want people to know that hard work, skills and education, as well as starting out with low wages, are the reality of trade jobs.

Carpentry Australia CEO Jake McArthur and head of development Nathan Quinn recently spoke to Sunrise to dispel any falsehoods.

“There’s a bit of a buzz around this particular TikTok,” McArthur said.

“But we have to understand what’s behind those salaries. There are things like risk, (a variety of) different roles, responsibilities (and) skills.”

According to Trade Risk, the average gross salary of a manual worker in 2023 was $90,940, representing an 11 percent increase from 2019 data.

Boilermakers were found to have the highest average income, $112,535, and electricians, $96,338.

Plumbers ranked third with a median income of $95,507.
