- The 19-year-old claimed she was raped by another Briton who was staying at the same hotel.
Police in Menorca have arrested one man and placed two others under investigation after a British teenager reported being raped and sexually assaulted by a tourist and local workers.
The suspect arrested is a 25-year-old man who lives in the United Kingdom and was staying at the same hotel on the island.
The 19-year-old woman whose complaint led to the arrest told police he had raped her after having drinks at a pub in Arenal d’en Castell, Menorca’s fourth-largest resort on the east side of the island where most of its attractions are located.
She is said to have returned to her hotel where she was staying with her family “barefoot and in her underwear” after the alleged sexual attack at an undisclosed destination between the pub and her holiday accommodation.
The teenager also claimed she had been sexually abused by two other men after the initial incident and that she said they had taken advantage of the state she was in.

The teenager also claimed she had been sexually abused by two other men after the initial incident, who she claimed had taken advantage of the state she was in.
The distraught Briton, who had been drinking heavily, was taken to the nearby Mateu Orfila Hospital for a routine check-up.
The tourist was arrested hours after police were alerted early Saturday morning.
Police sources said detectives acted quickly to prevent the risk of him leaving the island and flying home.
He is believed to have already appeared before a judge, although it was not immediately clear this morning whether he had been remanded in custody or released on bail pending an ongoing criminal investigation.
The other two men, described as seasonal workers, were placed under formal investigation but were not formally arrested.
One of them is Spanish, the nationality of the other is still unknown.
The police investigation into the alleged sexual crimes that occurred early in the morning was carried out by the Civil Guard of Menorca, although the local police of the Es Mercadal Town Hall, a municipality that includes Arenal d’en Castell, also intervened.
The British teenager is believed to have left Menorca after giving a statement to police and agreeing to help investigators in the coming weeks and months as the investigation progresses.
