A body language expert has revealed that Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson looked “distant” and “unnatural” during their last public appearance together, as news emerges that the couple have split.
A source confirmed to DailyMail.com on Friday that the Coldplay singer, 47, and the actress, 34, had called off their engagement after seven years together.
Now UK-based body language expert Judi James has analysed the couple’s interactions since they were last photographed together and sensed some tension between them.
The two stars were last seen together on vacation in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, in February.
Photographers captured them splashing in the water and sunbathing on the beach.

And while from the outside it looked like they had a great day together, Judi said the Madame Web actress looked “distant” from Chris in many of the snaps.
“Dakota’s body language makes her look distant in some of these poses, while Chris seems to be giving her some worried glances,” Judi said.
‘Their tactile behavior does not seem simple or natural.
Judi noticed that at one point, Chris reached out to try to take Dakota’s hand, but she held it behind her back so he couldn’t grab it.
“And when their hands come together, it seems like there’s no time left to shake them,” Judi continued.
When the two stars finally held hands, Judi said Dakota seemed to be resisting.
“As Chris takes her hand in what appears to be a firm, affectionate grip, he pulls her hand towards his torso, but she appears to keep her distance between them, stretching out her arm rather than reaching out,” Judi added.
‘Dakota’s gaze appears distant in some of these photos, while Chris can be seen looking at her face with an expression of what could be concern.’
Judi also explained how the outfits they wore on their beach date could have been another clue to their impending breakup.
“When their hands come together, it seems like there’s no time left to shake them,” Judi said.

But a source close to the pair revealed to DailyMail.com that they briefly split earlier this year.
