Additions to Qantas' new inflight economy menu will be rolled out in the coming weeks.

Qantas frequent flyers are in luck after the airline overhauled its inflight economy menu on domestic routes.

Traditional snacks such as cheese, crackers and sweet slices will be abandoned in favor of hot dishes to offer something more substantial.

Instead, passengers will enjoy a Yummy Karma scrambled egg brioche with tomato sauce, a Handmade Food Co. ciabatta roll with Portuguese chicken and lemon-mango jam or Simmone Logue artisanal beef sausage rolls.

Vegetarians are also catered for, with Sunny Queen pumpkin and carrot fritters, cauliflower bites or a Mediterranean pizza.

Additions to Qantas’ new inflight economy menu will be rolled out in the coming weeks.

All items feature premium local ingredients from Australian producers and will be launched on flights over the coming weeks.

“We are always adjusting our menu in response to customer feedback and to improve our onboard dining experience,” said Qantas executive manager of products and services Phil Capps.

“These hot menu items have been created using quality Australian ingredients and we are pleased to offer a wider range of options for customers traveling across our national network.”

Those traveling on domestic flights lasting more than three and a half hours such as Sydney-Darwin or Brisbane-Perth will also be offered a Weis ice cream.

This follows another major change to the airline’s menu last year, which saw an increase in meal sizes following complaints about portion sizes.

The changes represented the largest investment in Qantas’ onboard dining and lounges in the last decade.
