Danielle Lobes, a 22-year-old established nanny from Portland, Oregon, says she was distraught when a woman whose children she was caring for did not return home.

A babysitter claimed she was left home alone overnight with a woman’s children after the woman failed to return for hours.

Danielle Lobes, an established nanny from Portland, Oregon, agreed to babysit two children because she needed extra money for her vacation — something she quickly regretted.

Almost instantly, the 22-year-old walked into what she described as a “messy” and “dirty” home, with Danielle claiming the house was a danger to the two children.

Danielle arrived at 7pm and her mother originally told her she would be back at 2am.

The 22-year-old claims that as the night progressed she never heard from the woman again, despite numerous attempts to contact her.

At 2 a.m., Danielle texted the mother asking to borrow a phone charger and was told to look in the woman’s room.

By this time the mother had already arrived late, but she made no reference to this in her response.

Danielle sent another text to the missing mother when it was 5 a.m. and she still hadn’t returned.

She wrote: ‘I’m a little worried something happened. I know we talked about a long night, which is fine, but there was no talk of care during the night.

Danielle called the police and made sure they stayed with her until the mother finally returned home from her big night out.

‘I really need to go home right now because it’s 5am.’

She asked if there was someone she could contact to look after the children in the meantime, but received no response.

She began to worry about the safety of the mother who, according to Danielle, had ventured into a bar with an alarming reputation.

Meanwhile, the stressed-out nanny was forced to deal with questions from the children asking where their mother was.

She claims she had to contact police and report that the mother had not returned home, where Danielle requested that officers remain present with her.

Danielle’s hellish night finally ended when she received a phone call from her mother at 8am the next day, telling her that she had returned to the house of a man she met at the bar.

He also added that his phone ran out of battery.

Throughout the night, Danielle deep cleaned the house which contained expired food and no beds to sleep on.

The intriguing story caught the attention of online users after being uploaded to TikTok when one person said: ‘One time there was a baby and the mommy didn’t come home until 5am the next day.

‘She was at a wedding and her phone died… I was so nervous.’

Another person commented: ‘My own sister did this to me, I didn’t call the police or anything but she would be out for two hours*, like 10 or 12 hours late at home lol.’
