A Pennsylvania man shot and killed his beloved wife and daughter after arguing with the women while cleaning his gun.
Roger Hanks, 76, of Chester County, was arrested at his home Thursday night and charged with first-degree murder.
The charges came after police were called to the 200 block of Wiltshire Drive, where Hanks lived with his wife Judith, 75, around 6:15 p.m. Their home was a $746,000, four-bedroom single-family home. and three bathrooms.
After being found in his garage and arrested, Hanks admitted that he had shot his wife, Judith, and their 37-year-old daughter, Emily. ABC reported.
Hanks confessed that he had argued with Judith while cleaning his gun and told her, “If you keep this up, this is going to blow you up.”

When Judith (left) fell to the ground after the shot, Emily (right) “became enraged.” This caused Hanks to point the gun at her daughter and it went off again, this time knocking her down.
Hanks allegedly pointed the gun at his wife and told her that “if she didn’t shut up and leave him alone, he was going to ‘cover her up,'” documents show.
The Hanks’ house was a $746,000 single-family home, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms.
Hanks confessed that he had argued with Judith (pictured) while cleaning his gun and told her: “If you keep this up, this is going to blow you up.”
He then allegedly pointed the gun at his wife and told her that “if she didn’t shut up and leave him alone, he was going to ‘cover her up,'” documents show.
The 76-year-old man pointed the gun at his wife and it went off, Hanks told police.
When Judith fell to the ground after the shot, Emily “became enraged.”
This caused Hanks to point the gun at his daughter and it went off again, this time knocking her down.
He pointed the gun at the chest area of both women, an affidavit revealed.
Hanks boasted to police that he is “the best of the best” when it comes to shooting firearms and displayed his frequent participation in shooting competitions, according to the affidavit.
The Pennsylvania man also told police he drank two German beers and Irish whiskey earlier on the day of the tragic incident.
The police reported that the weapon and two shell casings were found at the scene.
Emily’s Linkedin account reveals that she graduated from the University of Miami and worked as a consulting director for a risk management and governance firm in Chicago.
From Judith’s social media accounts, it appears that the Hanks were a very close-knit family and that Emily and her mother were particularly close.
