- A tourist died after collapsing in the boarding area of Reus Airport
A British tourist has died at a Spanish airport while waiting to board a plane back to the UK.
The tourist, aged in his 60s, was declared dead after collapsing in the boarding area of Reus airport on the country’s Costa Dorada coast, near the east coast city of Tarragona.
Paramedics and police tried unsuccessfully to revive him.
An autopsy is expected to show he died of natural causes and police sources say there is nothing to indicate foul play.
The drama unfolded on Monday evening as the unnamed Briton was preparing to board a Ryanair flight to Leeds.

According to local reports, he was returning to the UK after spending time in a Tarragona hospital for treatment for unknown health problems.
Last October, a 61-year-old British tourist died on a plane taking off from the same airport. He became unwell on a Jet2 plane bound for East Midlands Airport.
The incident caused a long delay and the plane took off almost seven hours after its scheduled departure time.
In September 2019, a 67-year-old Thomas Cook customer died after arriving at Reus airport.
She was assisted by a German nurse who was on holiday but died at the scene after paramedics arrived and made an unsuccessful attempt to save her using a defibrillator when she went into cardiac arrest.
According to local reports, the woman fell ill on the way to the airport and died while waiting to be flown home on a rescue flight organised after Thomas Cook filed for bankruptcy.
