The accident occurred Monday afternoon at the Western Meat Exporters factory in Charleville, about 750 km west of Brisbane.

The man from Queensland was declared dead two hours later.

Officers closed the site until the arrival of researchers on Tuesday.

Workplace Health and Safety has started an investigation into the incident and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

The slaughterhouse is the largest goat processing plant in Australia and processes tens of thousands of animals every week.

According to the website, the slaughterhouse is a specialized facility that is designed to & # 39; Halal & # 39; produce goat and sheep meat for all export markets, including the United States, the European Union, Asia and the Middle East.
