Is it a bird, is it a plane? No, it’s a Concorde-style superyacht: A 425-foot ‘Thunder Bird’ luxury vessel with full glass decks, spa and swimming pool in concept design revealed

  • Turkish yacht designer Aras Kazar came up with the design concept
  • it’s called Wakinian, a Lakota Native American word for thunder

A designer has revealed stunning conceptual plans for a Concorde-style superyacht.

Turkish yacht designer Aras Kazar painted the 425-foot luxury vessel – complete with full glass decks, a spa, and a pool.

The boat is a Trimaran, has three hulls, and comes with electric and hydrofoil technology, giving it a top speed of 32 knots.

Kazar named his creation Wakinyan, a Native American Lakota word for thunder.

He said, “The word is usually translated as ‘spirits of thunder’, ‘beings of thunder’ or ‘birds of thunder’.”

“The full glass floors provide nearly 360 views with plenty of natural light inside,” said Kazzar.

Describing the yacht, he said:

The designer said Wakinian is at “concept level” but could go into production if an investor is found. There is currently no estimated price for this model.

The full glass roofs provide approximately 360 views with plenty of natural light to the interior.

The interior design follows the soft, cool and cloudy exterior feeling. Wakinyan is designed to make you feel calm and relaxed, either when you enjoy it from the inside or just by looking at it from the outside.

The yacht also has five “soft, comfortable and cloudy” bedrooms and one master bedroom.

Wakinyan is the latest project from Aras Kazar, who specializes in 'minimalist, futuristic and elegant' designs, and has a range of superyacht concepts.

Wakinyan is the latest project from Kazar, which specializes in “minimalist, futuristic, and elegant” designs, and has a range of superyacht concepts.

Last year, he revealed his design for Ono, a glass-and-metal “floating villa” luxury yacht inspired by Spartan helmets that comes complete with rooftop solar panels.

Footage released by the Dutch Yachting Organization, in February, showed that Jeff Bezos’ $500 million luxury yacht Kourou, codenamed Y721, was seen in the North Sea after leaving Rotterdam.

The beta test of the 417-foot vessel came months after it was originally set to be delivered to the founder of Amazon.

The superyacht requires a 250-foot support vessel with a helipad.

Kourou caused controversy last year after a report that Dutch officials would have to dismantle the historic Koningshaven Bridge because the 130-foot steel structure was not large enough to allow the passage of the Kourou’s 229-foot masts.
