Danielle Drummond told the local news station. WOIO who was in the process of putting an object under the piano when her friend lost control, causing her to slip and fall on top of her.

“She fell like a grand piano on me and severed my spinal cord,” Drummond said. “Now I’m paralyzed from the waist down.”

She was rushed to the hospital and had emergency surgery. Doctors told her that she would be in a wheelchair for the rest of her life.

‘I’m trying to stay in a good mood because I know this is my life now, but it’s hard. From now on I need a lot more physical therapy. I need to get my strength back,’ she said.

Drummond had just moved from Cleveland, Ohio to Eugene, Oregon, to live in a van when the accident occurred. While returning home to his family would make more sense given his condition, it would be a significant undertaking, especially considering the additional challenges of transporting his medical equipment.

She also said that if she wants to be able to live alone, she will need a home health aide for the rest of her life.

“I don’t even know how I would get home, much less how to transfer all the medical supplies, and I don’t feel like I could get as far as a car ride or a trip right now.” on a plane,” she said.

“I hope the people who are going through this don’t give up,” Drummond said.

Her sister Rosie Hayne has created a GoFundMe to pay medical costs. Hayne posted an update about her sister’s health journey on May 1 and how her sister has been coping with the pain.
