Greek police have arrested a British man on manslaughter charges after his partner was killed in a brutal head-on car crash in Greece earlier this week.
The 28-year-old Briton was behind the wheel with his 33-year-old partner in the passenger seat when their car swerved into oncoming traffic as they drove through the resort town of Kardamena on the Greek island of Kos on Monday morning.
His vehicle crossed into the path of a second car driven by a 42-year-old Albanian man and suffered a terrible collision.
Both drivers escaped the horrific crash with minor injuries, but the 33-year-old woman suffered critical trauma, according to Greek media. reports.
She was rushed to hospital in Kos by EKAV ambulance services, but died from her injuries a few hours later and doctors were unable to save her.
Her 28-year-old partner was initially released after medical checks, but was later arrested and charged with “negligent homicide.”

The seriously injured 33-year-old Briton was rushed to Kos Hospital by EKAV Ambulance Services but succumbed to her injuries a few hours later.

The driver of the vehicle is said to have escaped the incident unharmed and has been taken into custody.
Officers from the Vrysses Police Department in Chania are conducting an investigation into the incident.
An FCDO spokesperson said: “We are supporting the family of a British woman who died in Greece and are in contact with local authorities.”
