A young woman from California has revealed how she made almost six figures in just six months simply by taking photographs while traveling the world.
Alexandra Hallman25 years old, has spent much of the last few years traveling the world after discovering the best strategy for making money while on vacation.
It takes photographs of its surroundings and then sells them to companies to use on various marketing platforms such as social media, websites and other advertising avenues.
While chatting with DailyMail.com about the method, she revealed that not only does she earn thousands of dollars a week with it, but she is also often rewarded with perks like hotel stays or free products.
Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com, Alex said that after majoring in film production at Seattle University, he began creating content for companies including local cafes and restaurants, as well as mega-brands such as Virgin Galactic and L’Oréal.

He had initially dreamed of working in film, but became discouraged after struggling to find full-time work.
“I could barely survive, working three grueling jobs to pay the rent and get groceries,” he recalled.
Then, he started thinking big.
“I always loved creating content,” he said. “It never had to be me modeling. I think that’s what confuses people on TikTok.
“They always think, ‘Oh, this is just for pretty people to do.’ But I was never in the photos; they were always photos of the food the restaurants had. And they would use them on their menus.
“So I became very good at photography,” she continued of her early professional experiences.
A few years ago, Alex, who admits he never liked the idea of a rigid 9-to-5 job, found himself kitesurfing in Zanzibar.
‘I love taking photographs. And I realized that any item, product or surfboard I held over this beautiful bright blue ocean – a pair of sunglasses, a coconut or even a banana – a“Everything looked beautiful with the view behind it,” he said.
“I thought, ‘Wow, they look like magazine covers, brands should use this.’ And brands need photos to sell anything. Especially in hotels, you want to know where you’re staying.
From there, he began posting scenic photos he took on Instagram for free and tagging businesses that might be interested.

“And then these brands started collecting my photos and sharing them from all countries,” he explained.
‘And so my work spread internationally. Some of my favorite companies of all time asked me to use my photos to share on their social networks.
This evolved into cold emailing businesses (e.g. the Hilton in Cabo) with relevant photos.
Over time, she began receiving commissions for specific types of content from companies like L’Oreal and more.
“The creator gets 100 percent of the profits,” he emphasized, since he works without an agent or management team. “You’re not working 9 to 5 for someone else.”
“And I can choose where I want to go,” she added, also mentioning that she was thrilled to have recently traveled to Sweden to see Taylor Swift in concert.
She has also been able to visit Rome, where she stayed for a week in a luxurious penthouse.
After years, his hard work has paid off and he informed DailyMail.com that he has made almost six figures from his photography in the last six months alone.
Alexandra often documents her travels on TikTok, where she has amassed more than 93,000 followers.
But when some on social media began to question what she had done to achieve what appeared to be an idyllic, carefree life, she became enraged at the fact that the exhausting work she had done was not being recognized.
It was during a kitesurfing trip to Zanzibar that he realized he could hold anything up in front of the blue ocean, take a photo and it would turn out like a “magazine cover.”
In the years since, Alex has worked incredibly hard to build his portfolio and clientele as a freelancer, racking up nearly six figures in the last six months.
That feeling eventually compelled her to write a book detailing how she makes her income, called The Sleepy Millionaire: How To Get Paid To Travel, which she then followed up with a second, titled No Clocking In: Profit 24/7 From What. You love.
“The book has done much better than I ever imagined,” he told DailyMail.com.
And he has received an overwhelmingly positive response: people from all over the world have written to him to thank him for his knowledge.
“I wake up every morning crying and I get so many messages from young girls and mothers, even from guys in college,” she shared.
“I’m getting inundated with messages from people saying I’ve changed their lives.”
In a recent video, Alexandra, who calls herself The sleepy millionaire in your tiktok and instagramrevealed that she won $12,000 alone during a trip to Aubra.
“I’m 25 years old and I’m currently making $12,000 while in Aruba,” Alexandra stated.
‘You don’t need to be in (the photography industry). “If I sit here and take a photo of my hand holding this Corona with the ocean behind me, (I can) sell that photo,” he continued.
‘Its a lot of money. All companies need photographs.’
On his TikTok, he reiterated that in his book he broke down the steps of how he built his portfolio and clientele as a freelancer.
He explained on the video streaming app that his tome details everything from how to handle pricing, licensing fees and contracts to what to say in emails.
‘Just copy and paste my email and send it to as many companies as you want, okay?’ She continued.
‘Everyone is thinking too much about this. It’s like sending it to as many companies as you want. There is not limit.
‘And any money you make is not going to change what I’m doing, because there are a billion companies in the world, there are so many hotels in the world, there are so many vacations to go on, so many countries, so many cities.’
“And you don’t have to do it to travel,” he added, swearing that someone could even make money from the photos they take on the “couch at home.”
The Los Angeles Times previously described how people can earn passive income from stock images.
“Although you usually won’t make much from any given sale, you can sell the same photograph many times and in many different ways,” the newspaper reported.
Among the most reliable recommended platforms are Adobe Stock, Shutterstock and iStock, Alamy and Foap.
Rates vary widely, but are generally based on usage.
The LA Times also warned against uploading his photographs to sites that demanded exclusive rights to sell his images.
Meanwhile, photographers can also sell their work on Etsy or ‘print-on-demand’ stores like FineArtAmerica, RedBubble or Society6; Through such platforms, licenses can be obtained to use images as prints on a wide variety of consumer goods, such as puzzles and T-shirts.
