A teacher arrested on allegations she had sex with an 11-year-old Wisconsin student was abandoned by her fiancé.
Madison Bergmann, 24, faces a charge of first-degree child sexual assault after a parent of a fifth-grade student reported her to administrators and police at River Crest Elementary School.
The teacher was due to marry classmate Sam Hickman in July, but the plans were scrapped due to what Hickman described as “f***ing behaviour” on the part of her fiancé.
“It’s been postponed indefinitely,” a friend of the couple told New York Post.
And it probably won’t happen. Sam is really upset and heartbroken. He’s embarrassed and screwed. He didn’t deserve this. “Everyone is pissed,” he added.

Madison Bergmann, 24, was arrested and faces a charge of first-degree child sexual assault after a parent of a fifth-grade student reported her to administrators and police at River Crest Elementary School.
During her interview, she told authorities that the victim’s mother allegedly gave her the student’s phone number after the family invited her to Afton Alps, a ski resort, over winter break.
The St. Paul couple’s wedding website at The Knot has also been taken down.
“It was more like, ‘Well, obviously, that’s not going to happen this summer.’ Pretty much all there is to say.
“He says it’s fucked up that she cheated with a little boy,” the friend told The Post.
‘He is really very hurt. Not talking about it too much, just like “this is fucked up.” He is still in shock.
“Not only did she cheat on him, but she also cheated on him with a little boy.”
According to her Facebook, Bergmann became engaged to Hickman in December and their wedding was scheduled for July 27.
The alleged sexual assault was discovered after the boy’s parents reportedly found text messages between Bergmann and their son.
On Wednesday, the boy’s father provided printed text messages in which he allegedly told the boy that she liked it when the victim touched her and that she enjoyed making out with him.

The boy’s mother initially overheard the student and Bergmann talking on the phone before informing the boy’s father, according to KARE 11.
During her interview with police, she told authorities that the victim’s mother allegedly gave her the student’s phone number after the family invited her to Afton Alps, a ski resort, over winter break.
Upon searching Bergmann’s purse, officers found handwritten notes between the two, according to charging documents. It is not clear what was written in the notes.
When asked about the text message exchange between her and the student, Bergmann invoked her right to an attorney, according to the documents.
After her arrest she was suspended from her teaching role. During her suspension, Bergmann is not allowed to have contact with Hudson School District students, parents or staff.
He is also not allowed on district property and cannot attend any school activities.
“Learning about a school staff member and his alleged inappropriate conduct that violates trust is deeply troubling to all of us,” the school said in a statement.
After her arrest she was suspended from her teaching role. During her suspension, Bergmann is not allowed to have contact with Hudson School District students, parents or staff.
‘We understand the seriousness of this situation and are committed to providing the necessary support to any children who may be affected.
“We kindly ask the school community to respect the privacy of Hudson students and their families and to refrain from spreading rumors or speculation.”
Bergmann was released on a $25,000 signature bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 30.
