An American citizen kidnapped by Hamas during the Oct. 7 massacre is among six hostages whose bodies have been recovered by Israel, President Biden said.
Hersh Goldberg-Polin, 23, was recovered from a tunnel beneath the Gaza city of Rafah on Saturday, 10 months after his abduction during the atrocity that killed 1,200 people.
Goldberg-Polin was at the Nova music festival when Hamas terrorists began massacring festival-goers, while taking others hostage.
He lost his arm in the butcher shop.
Israeli officials could not confirm how or when Goldberg-Polin was killed.
Announcing the tragic news on Saturday night, Biden said: “I am devastated and outraged.
‘Hersh was among the innocent people who were brutally attacked while attending a peace music festival in Israel on October 7.
‘He lost his arm helping friends and strangers during the savage Hamas massacre.’
Hersh Goldberg-Polin was among six hostages whose bodies were recovered on Saturday. He was one of the victims taken hostage by Hamas during the October 7 massacre.
He was last seen alive in a video released by Hamas in April.
Authorities said at least some of the three men and three women whose bodies were recovered had been alive in recent months.
