A man wanted in connection with the murder of a teenager in Ormskirk last year has been arrested in Greece, police have confirmed.

Matthew Daulby, from Liverpool, was stabbed to death twice during a mass brawl on Railway Road.

The 19-year-old was stabbed in the chest and died in hospital on July 19 last year.

Over the past 16 months, Lancashire Police have repeatedly urged the public to help locate 21-year-old Thomas Dures.

In March, Henry Houghton had already been sentenced to life in prison for Daulby’s murder.

Houghton, 19, will serve a minimum term of 20 years.

Yesterday, Lancashire Police confirmed that Thomas Dures had been arrested. Manchester Evening News reported. He then appeared in court on Tuesday.

A spokesperson for the National Crime Agency confirmed it had been working with Lancashire Police for the past 16 months in relation to the incident.

‘We torture ourselves daily about what happened to Matthew that fateful night.

“It is some small consolation that Henry Houghton has been in prison for a long time. They have also sentenced us to life imprisonment.
